The process of obtaining permanent residency or immigration status in the U.S. can be long and complicated, but you can lose it in an instant. If you face the risk of deportation, you want an experienced immigration lawyer protecting your rights in court. With over ten years of experience, attorney Sanjay K. Biswas understands your rights and options.

If your immigration status is threatened after an arrest, the judge will detain you and set a bond. We will ask the judge to set a bond so that you can be released. We will put you in touch with an immigration bond company, so we can begin working on your criminal and deportation defense.

Removal Defense

There are a number of ways to defend against deportation or removal. We will help you explore all of your options so that you can remain in the United States, including:

  • Asylum & Refugee Cases: If you have a credible fear of persecution in your country of origin, you could remain in the United States as a refugee.
  • Withholding of Removal: If you do not qualify for asylum, you could remain in the U.S. with a work authorization card, but you will not be able to leave the U.S.
  • Convention Against Torture Claims: If you have been a victim of torture in your home country, you could remain in the U.S. under a CAT claim.

If you face the threat of deportation, you could also ask the court for permission to leave the United States voluntarily. If you are granted voluntary departure, you will not have a deportation on your record.
